Upper Canada Chorus: A Legacy

Welcome to The Upper Canada Chorus family – a global benchmark for music education since 1998. Our programs are designed to cultivate the unique potential of every individual, unlocking life skills – like confidence, discipline and leadership – that carry far beyond the musical realm, affecting every aspect of academic and social development. Our desire is to instill a love of music while creating core memories that will last a lifetime. We look forward to working with you. The season begins with Parent and Chorister Orientation on Wednesday, September 9!

UCC Preparatory: Studio Ensemble

The Studio Ensemble is a unique preparatory choral experience designed for young singers in Grades 1–8 who demonstrate strong musical potential and enthusiasm for singing. This program is ideal for students who are continuing to develop their musicianship before joining one of our main ensembles, or for families whose schedules do not align with our Monday evening rehearsal program.

With enrolment limited to just 12 singers, students benefit from an intimate, highly supportive learning environment with individualized attention and mentorship.

Throughout the season, singers will:

  • Develop foundational vocal technique and healthy singing habits
  • Learn to read music with confidence
  • Build listening, rhythm, and ensemble skills
  • Explore performance opportunities in a low-pressure environment
  • Receive direct mentorship from experienced singers in our high school and university ensembles

Unlike our formal concert ensembles, the Studio Ensemble does not require a concert uniform or mandatory performance commitment. However, students will still have many opportunities throughout the year to participate in performances, workshops, and collaborative musical experiences.

The Studio Ensemble is designed to nurture confidence, musicianship, and a lifelong love of singing while preparing students for future advancement within the Upper Canada Chorus program.

We are thrilled to welcome your family to our musical community.
