Calling All Dawns Registration

Join us on a musical odyssey that spans languages, cultures, and centuries! Calling All Dawns is a Grammy Award–winning song cycle by acclaimed composer Christopher Tin. Blending classical tradition with world music influences, this extraordinary work is performed in 12 languages—ranging from ancient Sanskrit to Chinese, Latin, Swahili and more—providing a powerful reflection on the shared human experience of night, dawn, and day. Its rich orchestration and sweeping choral writing have captivated listeners around the world, earning its place as one of the most compelling choral works of our time.

Join a choir of over 100 voices as we bring this masterpiece to life alongside professionals featuring musicians from the renowned Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Come lend your voice to something extraordinary—and be part of a performance that celebrates the power of music to connect us all.

Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Your registration includes:

• Music Instruction in live rehearsals with the Upper Canada Chorus artistic and musical directors Brian & Michelle Rawlins

Concert Dinner (pizza, veggies, fruit, and nut free homemade cookie) is also available for $20.

REHEARSALS – Participants must attend a minimum of 3 of the following rehearsals:

Mon. May 25 | 6:30-8:00PM | Heintzman House (135 Bay Thorn Drive, Thornhill)
Tues. May 26 |6:30-8:00PM | Heintzman House (135 Bay Thorn Drive, Thornhill)
Sat. May 30 |10:00-11:30AM | Heintzman House (135 Bay Thorn Drive, Thornhill)
Mon. June 1 | 6:30-8:00PM | Heintzman House (135 Bay Thorn Drive, Thornhill)

Participants should plan on attending a minimum of 3 rehearsals in order to be fully prepared for the concert, but may attend more. The Zoom rehearsal will be recorded, and the video will be posted. If you are not able to attend Zoom at the time specified above, you can revisit the video at a later date which will qualify as one of your 3 rehearsals.

All rehearsals will be held at our Upper Canada Chorus head office and rehearsal facility:
