UCC Choristers, Let’s Get Ready To Record! May 2025
We will be recording throughout May, and heading to Niagara-on-the-lake to film on Saturday May 31.
The Upper Canada Chorus is committed to the production of choral videos featuring our own choristers. In addition to expanding our audience, recordings and videos will create rewarding experiences chronicling the achievements of our choristers on a yearly basis. Have a look at “Unexpected Song” and “Go The Distance”, both recorded and filmed by UCC pre-COVID, for an idea of the power of this medium. We believe creating something special together each year, that can be archived forever on YouTube, will create a lasting impact that students will feel proud of for decades.
Our video and recording project this year will include 2 songs: “When I Grow Up” from ‘Matilda’, and “What a Wonderful World” which will be featured at our “Feeling Bublé” concert on Saturday June 7. We will be recording the audio for these throughout the month of May, individually at selected times in our studios, and filming the video on Saturday May 31st. We have planned an amazing day in Niagara-on-the-lake for filming, with many inspiring activities included in the experience, culminating in attendance at the Shaw Festival’s “Anything Goes”.
Every participant will be involved in filming the video, and will have the opportunity to record individually. Soloists will be chosen after the audio recording portion of the project.

Registration & Rehearsal Tracks
Choristers must register below and select their preferred recording times
There is a $292 +HST ($330) fee for participation in the recording, inclusive of solo recording, all activities on Saturday May 31, video recording, and ticket to Anything Goes at the Shaw Festival. This year we will be recording “When I Grow Up” from “Matilda” and “What a Wonderful World”. Our band has already recorded the tracks, which are included below so you can practice at home. All participants will record both songs, and we will provide a solo recording of each participant on “Wonderful World” for your own personal archives.
We would like to see a full choir for this event, as it represents a culminating activity that will be archived on Youtube for decades!
