Upper Canada Chorus: Canada’s preeminent choral experience for youth
An extraordinary experience for elite singers, UCC has cultivated some of the finest musicians in our city for over 25 years.
Upper Canada Chorus: Grades 5-12
As we return to in-person rehearsals for the first time since Covid, we will be accepting only a limited number of 20 students to each of 2 Upper Canada Chorus rehearsal groups – Grades 5-8 and Grades 9-12. Admission is by audition only. Our next audition date is Wednesday August 24, and our season begins Wednesday September 28.
We believe in the extraordinary capacity of each individual to adapt and learn, and to approach the world with an almost magical sense of wonder and discovery. It is this innate human spirit that launches young people on a quest to acquire language, to fascinate over the simple movements of nature, and to explore the natural sounds and rhythms all around us.
At Upper Canada Chorus, we use the most compelling attributes of live arts to create inspiration for young people and their audiences. We do it by focusing on 3 core educative principles. They are:
The Atmosphere of Environment
A positive, nurturing environment certainly includes the aesthetic surroundings, but also refers to the strong sense of community we believe is necessary for young artists to grow.
The Discipline of Habit
Blending both knowledge and action perfectly, experience in the arts prepares students for success in life. We encourage and cultivate the habitual behaviours of confidence and leadership.
The presentation of LIVING IDEAS
We believe arts education should be presented in such a way that it causes students to engage with the world and people around them.
Rehearsal Location & Time

My daughters have learned so much from their experiences with UCC. As well as receiving top-notch musical training, they have experienced the joy of sharing their passion for music with other like-minded youth. Perhaps most importantly, they have learned that by working hard at something they love, their lives can be immeasurably enriched.
Dr. Dalia Chapnick, Child & Adolescent Psycologist
I don’t think we as parents express our appreciation enough. Thank you for all that you do and all the invaluable experiences and opportunities you have provided to our children.
Anne Ko, UCC Parent
The UCC experience is incomparable. I can’t imagine a more worthy extra-curricular activity for my 3 children.
Richard Parry, UCC Parent
You have helped us give our daughter the best musical education we could hope for and so much more. You have introduced many concepts and helped her learn and discover many things, not just about music, but also about herself.
